'Tis the season! Holiday parties are a great way to make a statement. But they can also create a bit of panic if you obsess over what to wear. No matter what impression you want to make at this year's party we are here to help, with these holiday fashion musts:
Enhance your figure in a form-shaping dress. You might be tempted to opt for a loose shaping dress, however going for a form-shaping dress will enhance your figure without adding unnecessary bulk. Color choice is very important as well. While it's easy to opt for black, this time of the year is perfect to bring out different shades. Gray, navy, and any shade or red is a great choice for your party dress.
If a dress isn't in your plans think about combining red and black with your ensemble. Red and black matches the most festive holiday party décor. The experts at InStyle suggest you pair a lace black crepe top with red trousers or minimalist fabrics. They also suggest a cashmere sweater with your favorite cuffed medium blue denim for a more casual look. You can combine the best of both worlds as well. Combine a pretty laced top with a sexy golden long skirt for the perfect holiday look. Velvet is another popular trend. What was once popular in the 90s is “in” again. Velvet is the way to go for an accessory like a scarf or hat, but you can be bolder and go with an elegant velvet top for a classic look.
While you may spend a lot of time wondering what perfect dress you should wear, don't forget about outerwear. This time of the year temperatures make it necessary to consider what kind of jacket you will wear. Make a great first impression entering your holiday party with a chic coat that's perfectly fitted. Trendy jackets can include fur accents or embroidery.
When considering what jewelry you should wear with your outfit, remember that Christmas is the time to sparkle! Glitter is very appropriate this time of the year but keep it simple. Add some sparkle on a skirt, shoes or in your jewels but keep it to one only. Jewelry should also be eye-catching. Large necklaces or large cocktail rings are very popular holiday fashion trends. If you opt for a larger piece remember to keep the rest of your look simple.
However you plan to dress for your holiday party we have the perfect scent to accent your look! Browse our catalog of popular discount perfumes or view some of our original fragrances. And feel free to share your party fashion tips on our Facebook page!

Best New Perfumes of 2016
We may be calling it a little early, but 2016 is nearly complete and it's time to look back. Within the last few months some of the best new perfumes in 2016 have been released. And there's a lot of them to sort through. This year we've seen dozens of new additions to the fragrance market and the choices can seem endless. If you're looking for the best of the best new perfumes to wear during the winter, we've sorted through them and have a few favorites:
Agonist Floralust was released back in May, and was the perfect perfume to kick off the summer season. It's a unisex fragrance that pays homage to “the beauty of flowers.” It includes jasmine, freesia and magnolia in its bouquet of flowers. Agonist Parfums is from Sweeden and they have a reputation for being truly unique with their blends.
Clinique Aromatics Black Cherry was introduced back in June. It's a fragrance for woman that is a throwback flanker to the Aromatic Elixir released back in 1971. According to Clinique's release Aromatics Black Cherry is a decadent scent with a “wealth of rare florals.” If you love exotic spices you'll love this fragrance.
Laura Biagiotti Roma Passione & Roma Passione Uomo were a duo released in late September. Roma Passione is fruity and floral. It was developed with pink grapefruit, tangerine, vanilla, black currents, rose, jasmine, amber, tonka bean and musk. Roma Passione Uomo is a nod to spicy oriental with notes of coffee, cardamom, amber wood and other deep scents.
Victoria’s Secret Scandalous Dare is another flanker scent, that was released this October. It's flanker, Scandalous was very popular and Victoria’s Secret has improved on it with a sexy new twist. Scandalous Dare has some very welcoming florals and offers a vibrant alternative. You'll love the tuberose and jasmine.
Avon Prima is our most recent favorite, just hitting the markets in November. Avon Prima is getting rave reviews in the dance community, with American Ballet's Courtney Lavine as its face. It's designed to celebrate female strength and resilience, inspired by ballet dance. It opens with notes of lush plum and balances that sweetness with bergamot. You'll also enjoy the woody notes from clearwood, oak moss and patchouli. It's warm and graceful, the perfect new scent for the fall and winter months.

Best Scents for Work
We've all been in that office with a co-worker who decides how the entire room is going to smell that day. When working in an office the scent you choose may decide who you get along with. Also, what you wear may impact your work. There are several scents that are perfect for the work week that will help you maintain a professional appeal in the office, while making you more productive.
Lavender and jasmine perfumes will be more welcome than any other in the office. In fact your co-workers may love you for it! Lavender and jasmine are two of the most popular scents that some offices use to make their workers more productive. It's because both scents have calming properties that help people manage their stress levels. Lavender has also been shown to treat headaches.
Citrus scents are also good choices to wear in the office. Scents that highlight lemons, oranges or other citrus fruit help fight mental exhaustion. They also help perk people up, making them feel more refreshed, and more alert. Aside from perfumes, citrus blends are a great option for essential oils in the office during the cold and flu season. Just the aroma is enough to help keep people feeling bright and upbeat.
There are also specific perfumes that you can seek out to make sure you don't stand out in the office. One of our favorites to wear in the office is Amber Splash by Marc Jacobs. It's a great choice for the office, or anywhere, during fall months. Amber Splash is a mature blend of amber, cinnamon, cashmere wood and other outdoorsy notes. It's a cool fragrance that won't overpower a room.
When choosing a perfume to wear in the office, make sure you find something that won't leave a trail. Subtle scents are always appropriate in the workplace. One great option is Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely. Lovely is subtle while exuding power. It's a blend of nectarine and bergamot with rosewood for a slight intimate edge.
If there is one person who understands how to create a scent appropriate for the office, it's mogul Donna Karan. That's her inspiration behind Cashmere Mist. Chasmere Mist is a powdery, floral type scent that includes jasmine we mentioned above. It's light fragrance is also made from a mix of sandalwood and vanilla notes.
Acqua di Gioia by Girogio Armani is another great choice for a perfume to wear in the office. Acqua di Gioia works well in a professional setting because of its delicate sweetness. It's very citrus-infused with a sugary presence that may make some of your co-workers reach for the candy jar a little more often!
Scents Unlimited offers many designer type fragrances that work great in the office! View our discount perfumes on our website. Be sure to follow us on Pinterest for our latest specials!

Natural Tips for Shimmering Skin
Skin: It's the largest organ on the body, and the one that gives us the biggest fits. What's the best way to get shimmering skin? It's a question that many people wonder, and can even perplex the most expert dermatologists. Different people have different skin types, and each of our skin is very unique. That makes trying to have shimmering skin a problem. Advice for one person may not work for another. But there is some good news! If you have struggled to make your skin it's shiniest there are a few things that everyone can do to see results.
There are natural things that you can do to ensure shimmering skin. Showering for example, is one small change you can make for healthier skin. According to studies by dermatologists shorter showers are best for healthy skin. The reason? Longer showers cause the skin to lose moisture, leaving your skin felling dull.
While in the shower, pay attention to the temperature of the water as well. Cooler showers are best because hotter water does more damage to the body's natural oils. As much as it might hurt some of us to turn down the temperature (I, for one, LOVE a hot shower), if you limit yourself to one or two of your favorite showers per week, you should see plenty of results.
What you eat will also determine what kind of skin you have. For shimmering skin try to avoid anything that gives you digestive problems, which result in skin impurities. Make sure you eat the right foods that give you your daily vitamin needs. Foods with natural proteins, like fish, nuts, brown rice, and white meat are very good for healthy skin.
Another great tip for shimmering skin is to keep your skin hydrated. That means it's best to keep it out of the sun. Protect your face when you go outside with UV-protectant that has moisturizers, and try to cover your face with a large hat. Avoid washing your skin too much. Washing your face more than two times per day will result in dry skin. Allow your skin time to produce its natural oils. Like your showers, you should wash your face with cold water, to keep the foreign materials out.
You should also find out what kind of skin type you have. Some people have naturally oily skin, and that means they need a different care-routine than someone with constantly-dry skin. Other people may have sensitive skin, while some skin is tough as nails. A great moisturizer will help your skin, but you need to know your skin type before you buy something that may work, or over/under-work.
If you're ready for the best skin of your life try our Silk Skin Body Oil, made in our famous Carolina Rain! Feel free to share your tips for shimmering skin here as well, or comment on Facebook!

15 Essential Beauty Supplies to Pack on Vacation
Summer is in full swing and that means lots of travel! Vacations are a great break from our normal routines, but no matter where you are going, you'll want to look your best! Sometimes bringing your beauty regimen along can be difficult (especially if you're flying), however there are several beauty supply musts that you should pack to keep yourself looking your best! Here are our 15 favorites that will be easy to pack:
1. “Emergency Kit.” If you're flying pack a little kit that will help you freshen up after a long flight. The kit should include makeup wipes, concealer, moisturizer and lipstick.
2. Toothbrush. Bring a compact toothbrush with you wherever you go, if possible make it an electric toothbrush. They clean better, which is key if you're on the go.
3. Travel Hair Kit. Hotel shampoo and conditioner are not typically the best quality. To keep your hair looking its best find a simple mini set that is tailored to your hair type.
4. Dry Shampoo. If a hair kit is not an option, dry shampoo works well to remove grease built-up. Dry shampoo is especially handy for camping trips, or other times when washing your hair daily is not an option.
5. Moisturizing Creams. Even if you use lots of sunscreen, if you're out and about in the sun all day, your skin will dry out. Keep it silky soft by using moisturizer every night.
6. Travel Perfumes. Small perfume bottles (3oz or under) are allowed on carry-ons if you fly. It's also good to have a small travel sized perfume bottle handy to freshen up on hot summer days when you are sightseeing.
7. Travel razor. Travel razors used to be horrible on legs and arms, but companies have started to take them more seriously. Today you can find small travel razors with plenty of moisturizer and support to ensure a flawless shave every time!
8. UV Protection. Sunscreen and shades are a must if you're going to the beach, but you should apply the same protection if you are doing anything for a long period outdoors.
9. Hair Pins/Clips. The summer does some wild things to certain hairstyles. Plus hotel hair dryers are usually worthless. Give yourself options to fix your hair by bringing elastics or pins/clips to adjust as needed.
10. Face Cleansers. Just because you're on vacation doesn't mean you should stop your beauty routine. Usually people eat more foods that will cause break-outs on vacation, so keep your face cleansing routine going away from home.
11. Basic Makeup. Don't go crazy packing too much makeup. Stick to the basics like blush, liner and mascara, plus a base foundation or concealer.
12. Tweezers. Keep stray hairs at bay!
13. Hydration Products. You can save packing space by looking for multitasking hydration products.
14. BB Creams. They are versatile, which will keep your packing light! Most even provide SPF protection in addition to acting as moisturizers, foundations and primers.
15. Brushes. You can find simple travel makeup brushes designed to keep you looking your best when you travel, without taking more space than a passport!

5 Summer Beauty Hacks
Summer is just around the corner and with it comes a whole new crop of beauty items. While summer is a great time for fashion, beauty and getting a great tan, it can also create some problems for your beauty regimen. And if you are on vacation you may not have access to your full compliment of beauty tools to fix any problems that crop up on you. But don't fear, there are several summer beauty hacks that can keep you looking your best all summer long!
Keeping cool and avoiding sunburn are two goals when spending time at the beach this summer. To give your body instant relief from the heat, make sure to pack your sunscreen in your cooler around lots of ice. The cold sunscreen will feel amazing. You can also make little aloe ice cubes the night before to use on any bits of skin that don't get sunscreen.
If you are traveling on vacation bring an extra toothbrush to deal with hair problems. Frizzy hair can be touched-up with a spray of hairspray on a toothbrush. Run the brush along the hairline in gentle strokes and part to get stray hairs back into place.
Exfoliating can be difficult if you can't run to the beauty salon whenever you want. Oh great way to smooth out your feet is by using a potato. All you have to do is cut a potato in half and rub some coarse sea salt into the potato. Then use it to scrub the sides and bottoms of your feet for smooth skin!
Summer is time to be outside. If you spend a lot of time outdoors you know the damage the summer sun and sea salt can do to the color of your hair. Before you go outside spritz your hair with some apple cider vinegar. The vinegar will offer protection against the harsh UV rays of the sun as well as any other sand or sea water that gets into your hair. If you are blonde, olive oil also works well to keep your color intact outside.
When we think of dry skin, we usually think of the harsh winter months, when dew points make the air very dry. However if you are working on a tan, don't forget to re-hydrate your skin after you shower. Even if you don't have a sunburn, you want to moisturize your skin after spending all day outside. Also don't forget some lip-gloss that offers protection against the sun.
These are a few of our favorite summer hacks! Do you have your own? Comment here to share them with our reads, or head over to our Facebook page and let us know your thoughts!

6 Beauty Tips to Ignore
Each week on Tuesday we post something on Facebook called #BeautyTipTuesday. It's designed to give you some pointers on how to improve your beauty regimen. But not all beauty tips are created equal. Sometimes, rules are meant to be broken. Here's a few beauty tips that we think you should ignore:
Water helps your skin glow. Drinking water is very important for a number of reasons, however hydration will not help your skin glow. A dermatologist in San Francisco found that your skin does not react to water, no matter how much you drink.
Plucking eyebrows above your arch ruins its shape. The general rule is you should only pluck hairs below your eyebrow arch and let beauty experts take care of the top. Yes, you can have uneven eyebrows if you are plucking above the arch, however it's not impossible for a novice to do. Use a brow pencil to fill the exact shape you want and pluck hairs outside the lines.
Don't wear red if you have red hair. Red heads get the brunt of beauty criticisms for some reason. The common theme is red heads should never wear red lipstick. This is a widely-criticized rule, and we're very happy that red heads have started to ignore this tip. If you are a red head you can find the right shade of red lipstick if you look for classic shades that have warm tones.
Brushes are the only option for putting on makeup. Applying your foundation and eyeshadow with your fingers are fine. In fact fingers help warm up the product which gives you a more natural result.
Bold shouldn't be paired with bold. You are supposed to pick one feature of your face to play up, right? Wrong! Embrace your eyes and lips with bold shades. Most makeup artists agree that pairing a bold eye with a bold lip creates a dynamic look for you that's perfect for a night out on the town.
Brush your hair often to keep it healthy. Yes, this rule works for certain hair types. But if you have curly hair you probably already know that brushing it while it is dry can lead to nightmares, and pain. If you have curly or wavy hair you should use a wide tooth comb in the shower to untangle your hair.
These are just a few beauty tips we think you should ignore! Are there trends or “rules” that you choose to ignore that we left off this list? Share your thoughts with a comment here or on our Facebook page!

How to Choose Your Right Fragrance
If you have been around people long enough, you may start to notice how their scent stays with them. Scents are a calling card, and one impression you can make on someone. People use all their senses to remember, so the fragrance you choose will have a lasting impact on the people around you. So how do you make the right fragrance choice for you? Like finding the perfect dress or accessories to match your personality, choosing the right fragrance is mostly about your style and preferences.
Choosing a fragrance should showcase your personality. If you are the independent type, for example, you should try to find signature scents that you enjoy. Original scents are perfect for people who think outside the box. Most fragrances, like our Carolina Rain, are sold in specific boutique stores. It can be harder to search for these fragrances, because you have to shop different locations, however if you want something unique that reflects your personality, go original.
Some people get fashion tips from trends. Usually if you like to follow trends you should look for fragrances that are designed by celebrities. There's a reason why people like J-Lo, Britney Spears and others are so successful marketing fragrances. They are Hollywood and up on the latest trends. Celebs are always fitted in the latest fashion trends, which many people copy (or opt for more affordable versions). So it makes sense they are also outfitted with signature scents.
Some people can't settle. If you are someone with a closet full of shoes, heels, etc., you may find choosing one fragrance too daunting. A lot of people like to have different signature scents. Maybe you have a scent for the office, and a special scent for date night with your significant other. It can also be fun to switch your fragrance based on the seasons. There are dozens of wonderful scents that are specific to the time of the year. So if you get bored easily don't be afraid to mix it up and keep people guessing!
Last, but not least, you should always take yourself into consideration. Why type of skin do you have? If your skin tends to stay dry, you'll need a stronger fragrance because it will dissipate more quickly. In that case you'll need a fragrance that is more concentrated. If you have naturally oily skin, on the other hand, opt for something more subtitle that won't overpower a room.
What is your favorite type of fragrance? Comment here or on our Facebook page! Remember that Scents Unlimited offers the best original and designer type fragrances, with several options to fit your lifestyle!

Keeping Skin Soft in the Winter
Winter does a lot of damage to our skin. In most places in the United States the temperatures and humidity fall to levels that will dry out your skin. Cold weather, blowing winds, and even drier indoor humidity levels all combine to wreak havoc on your skin. But there are options to battle back against the terror of winter, to give your skin the care it deserves.
There are things you can do around the house to keep your skin healthy in the winter. One of the reasons why the air is so dry in your home is because heating systems blow a lot of dry air into the home. You can put moisture back into your home during the winter by investing in a humidifier. Put a humidifier in your bedroom and you can wake up with beautiful, hydrated skin every morning.
Typically skin becomes dry in areas where oils are the least present. So keeping your skin as oily as possible when you wash is the easiest way to avoid dry skin in the winter. Hot showers and baths are a great way to warm up in the winter, but hot water will remove more oils. Instead, when washing your hands and face, opt for luke warm water for optimal hydration.
If you have dry skin try to exfoliate as much as you need it. Use a gentle body scrub in the winter. Typically exfoliating a few times each week (no more than four times) should be plenty. You should also hydrate your body, much like you do in the summer. We drink less water in the winter because hotter beverage options are more popular (for obvious reasons). But your skin needs hydration internally as well. So opt for a little enhanced water with lemon to keep your skin healthy.
Creams are a very popular way to keep your skin soft during the winter months. Thicker formulas are needed because they will bind to the skin and hold in water better than lighter creams. We offer several different hydrating options for your skin, for men and women. Our natural hand and body lotions are the perfect option for winter and you won't have any greasy feeling. You'll also have dozens of designer type fragrances to choose from.
Those are just a few of our tips to keep your skin soft and hydrated this winter! Comment here, or on our Facebook page and let us know your tips for keeping your skin healthy during the cold months.

2016 Beauty Tips
Most people make new year's resolutions to get in better shape or eat better. But a lot of people use the start of a new year to create a whole new look for themselves. If you have been struggling, for whatever reason, finding the perfect beauty routine for your lifestyle, there are simple changes you can make right now to look your best. Here are a few of our beauty tips to help you in the new year!
Consistency. The most important of all beauty tips is to stick with a routine with your skin care. Great skin does not happen overnight. Even the strongest skin care products need time to do their magic. It's important to find what works and what doesn't work for you, but don't become frustrated if you don't see results in a few weeks. Some products can take anywhere from three to six weeks to transform your skin.
Hydrate. Sometimes popular beauty tips cost money. This one is free (except for a utility expense). Staying hydrated is one of the best things you can do for your skin. A lot of people think that water will hydrate the skin alone. That is not true (you'll need a skin moisturizer for that). Water hydrates the body, not the skin. But drinking water has been shown to limit acne. If you are dehydrated you skin will also look dry and wrinkled.
Wash Your Hair. Washing your hair twice a day is important, especially if you live in a humid climate. During the day your hair is exposed to a lot of humidity as well as normal bodily fluids and impurities in the air, like dirt. Washing them out will help curb thinning hair. At night dead cells can accumulate in the scalp which can damage hair follicles.
Use More Masks. Masks can be cumbersome however they get results. A yogurt, avocado and honey mask is a great way to improve your skin. Avocado will help hydrate the skin (as does the honey) and the yogurt acts as an anti-inflammatory for your face. Mint julep masks are growing in popularity to help with acne as well as giving your face a sweet scent! You can make these masks yourself or find them for under $20.
